Yvon Vilius is a freelance journalist working for the international media in Haiti. He is based in Port-au-Prince. Vilius has worked for Al Jazeera English as a producer since the January 2010 earthquake. He is a versatile cameraman, video editor, and producer who knows Haiti well. He speaks Haitian Creole, English, and French.
In June 2011, Vilius was part of an Al Jazeera team that received a prestigious New York Press Club Award for reporting on protests against the United Nations over cholera in Haiti. He has contributed to at least 20 video packages for Al Jazeera English and is credited as the sole producer for several.
